I saw that today too, Clint!! It's kind of ironic how they say the environment is all wrecked, but here we see the first mountain lion in our state in 150 years.

I wouldn't worry too much though...that guy looks pretty fat and healthy. They really only get to be a problem out west when they're starving or protecting cubs. Still, I will be checking the buckle on my knife sheath a little better should I take a stroll through the deep woods hehe.

That is so cool to have a mountain lion there again, hopefully it'll be able to stay.

There's been reports of them around here for years but no evidence as of yet. Maybe this will open up a few eyes. Hope I don't run into one on the trails!!!

Of course the deer are now thinking that they don't have to outrun the cat, they just have to outrun you

This one looks pretty happy in the water to me.

Mountain lions are the largest predatory cat in the United States. They can exceed eight feet in length and weigh up to 225 pounds. Females tend to be smaller than males. They have an excellent jumping ability, up to eighteen feet straight up and over twenty feet in a standing broad jump. Cougars can run up to thirty-five miles per hour. They can swim, but prefer not to unless necessary. They are also very good climbers. (watch out for over hanging limbs) hehehehe
