I joined a member lake (18.5 acres) this year that is less that a mile from the apt. I fish the lake at least 3 days a week (usually after work until dark). I catch around 3 to 4 LM each time and one is usually at least 4 lbs. There are some very big bass in the old creek bed of the lake. A 14 lb hawg was pulled out last year by a member. I am hoping to break the 10 lb mark this year on this nice secluded piece of heaven.

Still here. I have been spending a lot of time on the water since the divorce last year. It has been paying off as I am learning much more just by trial and error. Plus it benefits even more when my son visits because I know we are going to land several bass along with the occasional crappie and blue gill.

FnG gives a little more info... what did you catch 'em on? What is the water like etc...
Those of ous who aren't fishin', let alone catchin' need more!

Baits - 6" Zoom lizards and 4" Baby Brush hogs (watermelon or pumpkin or anything greenish)

Water clarity - about 4 feet of visibility

3/0 extra wide gammy hook

glass bead and the smallest bullet weight

20 lb braid (Suffix) with 6" to 3 feet of 15 lb pure fluoro leader (P-Line CFX)

90% of the bass have been caught after work (~6pm to dark)

You've been going to work with those brushhogs! Contrary to my name i don't use them often. You may be talking me into it!

Nice fish! The only downside to fishing alone, half of your arm always gets into the picture, LOL. All of my pics are the same way, only the fish aren't as big....Hopefully you break that 10 lb. mark soon.

When I first starting fishing the lake in late April / early May, I was strictly using a 6 inch lizard and they were tearing them up. Since then, the lizard is not getting hit as much as the baby brush hog. I tried the larger brush hog but they seem to ignore them as well. I have many different sizes of each and just try to figure out what the fish want that day.
