Default Dodging Tornados

Rough night around here.

First wave of storms moved through last night around 11-11:30pm and Tornado warnings were issued. As the storms were right on top of us, reports from a small town of a couple damaged housed starting coming in. A few tornadoes were spotted, but nothing in Toledo.

Then we had a rest before another storm system moved in around 2-2:30am. I woke up around 2, turned the TV on. no satellite signal (of course). Luckily, I could watch a live feed on my laptop. The really bad storms had diminished slightly in most of the Toledo area and we were left in HEAVY rain and Strong but straight line winds.

However, in Southern Toledo, and north of us, the storm was still very strong. A highschool east of south Toledo was destroyed by a tornado (and the seniors were scheduled to graduate today). This was a few miles east of our BPS. Another tornado hit about 20 minutes north, damaging a hotel right in front of the cabelas.

3 people have been confirmed dead so far, but we're all ok.

BB

anthony...as much as i hate tornados, rather go through one of them than a hurricane. i know it sounds dumb, but your chances are better in a tornado than a hurricane i think (been wrong before though). but ya'll DO TAKE COVER. watched many a tornado pass through the years.
glad ya'll are all okay, those things are tough.

I don't think it matters which is worse when you're in the middle of it.

I've been lucky on both counts. There's been tornados touch down not far from my house but I never saw them. And the most damage I've seen from hurricanes is a few downed trees.

Glad you and yours came through it ok Anthony!

I can attest to that, having been "in the middle" of a tornado before. It is enough to forever get rid of that "wow....look at that cool tornado..I wish I could get to see one" feeling you get when watching one on TV.

Glad to hear you and yor'n stayed safe, Anthony. So I guess you didn't do much fishing this weekend then?

Tornadoes are nothing to mess with. I think the damage is less widespread but more intense than hurricanes. The only one I saw was a couple miles away and I got in the car and got the hell out of there.

I saw that Dundee got hit hard and was wondering about you guys up there.
