This time of year do plastic worms or tubes work better? Why? what do you have the best luck with? What brand and colors work best for mostly clear water?? Thanx

depends how thick the cover is. I seem to have better luck pulling a tube through the thick stuff than a worm. For clear water, use a natural looking color such as watermelon. Best to use the smallest tackle and baits possible in clear water. I use the smallest bait I can find, along with some 8lbs flurocarbon in clear water, and with all the clear water around here, thats mostly whats on my rod/reel.

For the beginner a easy way to determine when to use a craw or tube is just follow the full moon phase, bass usually feed on crawfish heavily during a moon phase.
Also talk to other fishermen on the water and see what color the craw they like |

I agree with Rodman on this one. To me I have good luck with the Bass Pro shop tubes. For clear water I use natural colors such as shad. The water is never clear for long in the areas I fish so I don't spend the time to change my line, which would probaly help a bunch.

I love tubes especially the Hart Shocker tube and sometimes I'll through a Denny Brauer flip-n-tube.

well, it all depends on what the fish want. seems like in every post you have, you always ask what is good in clear water, could just be me tho :-/

When fishing wood structure I prefer a tube, and a worm while fishing any type grass. When imitating shad use a white or pearl tube otherwise use a watermelon or something natural as Rodman stated. A purple or blue worm is an all-time favorite.

I like going with a red shad or junebug Yum ribbontail worm. They seem to really go after these worms when worked.

Both are excellent baits.I prefer the worm because of local conditions.I use culprits, wave worms, and Mr. Twisters in red shad, grape shad, violet, and watermelon.

Clear water? Creme scoundrel, 4", natural, purple or black! Small zoom tubes in natural colors as well, and don't forget craw tubes, like MadMan's!
