Ok, so who's watching "Deadliest Catch" tonight? I've seen most of the episodes for the past few seasons, and don't plan on missing this one. As a spoiler, tonight's the night that Captain Phil Harris dies, and the show is apparently all about that. Afterwards, there's an episode of "After the Catch" that deals with the same thing. We have company coming, so I'll probably have to DVR it, but I'm watching it somehow, someway.

I'll be watching it for sure. Capt. Phil Harris was the main reason I got hooked on that show. Listening to him ***** at his two goofball sons was hilarious.

I watched the first season and thought it was a pretty cool show, but that was about the time I decided to stop paying for tv, and I haven't seen any of those shows since, although I did read about the captains passing online awhile back......Enjoy the program tonite.

No doubt. What really got me, though, was when Jake on the Northwestern found out his sister had died. She had terrible rheumatoid arthritis, I think, and was always in pain, hard to walk, etc. When Jake's mother called him on the boat and told him the news, he said something about "She's beautiful now, and she can run, and nobody's making fun of her...." That still chokes me up some.

Abbey, there is NO WAY I would do that-even if I was 30 years younger. They say bull riders are tough, but they don't hold a candle to these guys. They don't call it the most dangerous job in the world for nothing.

Abb,
Your statement at the end of your reply about Phil and Zooker made me think of something. Do you think Zooker is telling Phil how to crab fish or do you think Phil is telling Zooker how to bass fish? I am thinking that might be a tough conversation to get a word in. The world lost two great fisherman this year! |
