I fell your pain Lash? I am being rooted by fire ants right now. I reckon the lack of rain has them on the search for water in my house. But I have been the Hitler to the ant world. I find a few of them and set out a pieces of ham on a plate for 3 or 4 hours. They have no idea it is their last meal. I let them come out hot and heavy and then dowse them with the spray. I haven't seen any in a few days so I hope I have thinned them out.

Try this before you spend any money on bug spray. Mix up some liquid laundry soap or liquid dish soap with water in a spray bottle. A good squirt with a cup or two of water. And spray the bugs with it. This method kills a lot of beetles that breathe through their legs and bodies. Clogs up the holes and they sufficate. Quick and cheap. Also cleans up easily if the bugs are on your walls or carpet etc.

This method works on a lot of other insects, too. Back in the day, part of my business was landscape work. Dish soap and water took care of aphids, nymphs, silverfish, ants, earwigs, etc. It's cheap and works great.

I've heard flamethrowers get rid of a lot of bugs.

On a serious note, try some rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle (mist the bed, sheet, pillows, carpet, etc. before you sleep). This was recommended to my dad by an exterminator for bed bugs before our two day, 2 night trip last weekend. I'd think it would work for stink bugs as well. If not... see my first idea above.

We have stinkbugs everywhere around my house..Now that the weather is chilling a little they all want a nice warm place to hide for the winter..I can't stand it. I think they come from Pennsylvania.

Don't smash them. The smell attracts more. Thanks Tom, I thought they came from your way.
