Default Flooding here in MN

It's been awful here in Owatonna, MN (and surrounding areas) the last 2-3 days with 10+ inches of rain and most of the town being flooded.

Here is a link to a story and pictures. And one more here.

I dumped 12" of rain out of our gauge in a 30-hour span. Luckily for us, our basement is dry. We had to replace all the carpets and fix some other damage about 3 years ago during some spring flooding, and apparently the "fix-it" work we had done is doing its job. Lots of co-workers and friends and others in the community are not nearly as fortunate. We could all use your prayers in the coming days and weeks.

Thanks.
Dean

Thanks, guys. It's appreciated.

Fortunately, the water has now been receding for the past day and a half. We can actually get around town a little bit now, although some of the streets are still impassable. Below are a few pictures I took this afternoon. It gave me a sick feeling in my stomach to drive past the places where yards, houses, garages, vehicles, etc. were under water, and it didn't feel right to take pictures of that, so I didn't.

The road to the left in this picture was underwater on Friday.

There will be lots of clean-up to do once the waters get back to their normal levels.

This is a walking path near what is normally just a small CREEK.

This is a parking area with a walking path by it.
