this game is a blast. I played it a lot as a kid thought I was good until I played someone of olympian caliber. She made me look like a novice and she was willing to teach me but my schedule didn't permit it.

She had this serve that looked simple, but no matter how you hit your return shot, your shot would head into the net. Definitely mind boggling. Wii any one?

Dude that is the most frusterating thing when the ball goes right to the net I hate it! By the way how did you get to play with an olympian?

Hells ya! i used to play alot until we got rid of our table. Im pretty good, I played in a league to. I had a ping pong supply mail order catalog and I could not believe the paddles and rubbers they had. They had just nice replacement rubbers for like $100 bucks, its crazy.

Did you win a box of chocolates?

Sorry, bad joke, but I couldn't help it.

@Burly: The university I attended had a group of ping pong players and she happened to be in this group. I can still kick myself in the rear for declining her offer to train me. Big padawan mistake! She was that good and so were many in this group. Suddenly I have the urge to watch that Balls of fury movie.

Yea would of been a great thing to have someone like that train you! The table I have is a "Ketler" it is made in Germany and it has an aluminium top instead of a wood one.

I'd imagine, like pool, you'd have to put some english on the ball.

I used to work at a company, owners from Japan. We had a room off the warehouse that had 3 Harvard tournament tables. I played every day for years during lunch and after work. I got into ordering custom paddles from a place on the net called Paddle Palace. Love the game but it's hard finding others that can really play. To bad you are so far away.

Used to play a lot a couple of years ago. Was pretty good at one point but now I'd prolly just end up pitchin my paddle right through a window. We did just got a new table last May for the Pokerhouse to entertain the drunks who are too far gone to be in the games.
