... WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST SUNDAY...

... SIGNIFICANT SNOW AND WIND TODAY FROM SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA THROUGH THE TWIN CITIES METRO AND INTO WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN...

...A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT TODAY AND TONIGHT ACROSS EAST CENTRAL THROUGH SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA. THIS INCLUDES THE TWIN CITIES METROPOLITAN AREA. THE WARNING ALSO CONTINUES FOR POLK AND BARRON COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST WISCONSIN. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES REMAIN IN EFFECT THROUGH TONIGHT ON THE EAST AND WEST SIDES OF THE WARNING AREA... FROM ALBERT LEA TO LADYSMITH AND WILLMAR TO LITTLE FALLS RESPECTIVELY. STORM TOTAL SNOWFALLS WITHIN THE WARNING AREA ARE EXPECTED TO BE BETWEEN 6 AND 10 INCHES. THE ADVISORY AREA CAN EXPECT 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW. IN ADDITION TO THE SNOW... NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS AT 15 TO 25 MPH WILL ACCOMPANY THE SNOW.

...SNOW WAS IN PROGRESS EARLY THIS MORNING ACROSS THE WARNING AND ADVISORY AREAS. THE SNOW COMBINED WITH TEMPERATURES NEAR THE FREEZING MARK WAS CAUSING A SLUSHY ACCUMULATION ON AREA HIGHWAYS ALONG WITH SLIPPERY CONDITIONS. THE SNOW INTENSITY WILL INCREASE THIS MORNING AND PERSIST THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. A PERIOD OF HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP IN THE FAIRMONT... MANKATO AND NEW ULM AREAS AROUND DAYBREAK AND THEN SPREAD NORTHEAST ACROSS THE WESTERN AND NORTHERN SUBURBS OF THE TWIN CITIES DURING THE LATE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS. SNOWFALL RATES OF AN INCH AN HOUR MAY OCCUR IN THESE AREAS FOR A TIME TODAY. FURTHER EAST... A RAIN SNOW LINE IS EXPECTED TO SET UP FROM ALBERT LEA THROUGH THE EAST SIDE OF THE TWIN CITIES METROPOLITAN AREA TO LUCK WISCONSIN... WITH JUST RAIN OCCURRING BY AFTERNOON FROM EAU CLAIRE TO LADYSMITH.

For Northwest Georgia for the same period:
This Afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 70. South wind around 5 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 36. Calm wind.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 67. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

Dang it all I wish I were up there with you guys, NOtt!!! LOL

75 here but the fish sure were not biting today. I heard on the news at noon that somewhere in Iowa has 10" already! Welcome to the north Boss, it won't take long before you get sick of using that shovel.

It was in the 70's here yesterday, so we hit the lake for a couple of hours before the cooler temps and rain moved thru last nite making it alot cooler today....in the 50's and 30's tonite. I managed to catch a single bass along the rip-rap on the dam,but that was the only fish we caught....As you can see from this photo the stormy skies were movin in...lol

77 today, but it will get to a chilly 57 tonight. High tomorrow of 75 with blue bird skies.

Bass and trout fishing in the morning. Shorts and flip flops are still the attire of choice.
