Could it be H1N1 ?
My stepson came home from school monday with a fever 102ish , Then felt ok that night. Tuesday throwing up with fever again , then really stuffy nose. Wednesday fever felt ok developed cough. Thursday fever cough almost non stop , diarroreha (sp). Seen doc , doc did no testing , just said it was rotavirus or rhinovirus. Now , thursday night my 4 year old is starting to feel sick to her stomach , and has a 101 fever. My wife is pregnant due in early april. This isnt good I am afraid.

Keep a lot of PURELL around the house as the CDC not only reccomends but prefers the use of instant hand sanitizer

Well , my daughter threw up once tonight and went to sleep. I dont know if the motrin made her sick , or the flu or whatever it is. So , she is asleep with no fever reducer in her. Man , this sucks... I wish my wife could go somewhere else for awhile , but she has already been here non stop with the kids , she is a stay at home mom , so its probably to late.

Sending prayers your way buddy. I sure hope that everyone gets to feeling better soon and I hope that you and your wife avoid it.

It's making it's way around. Got staff and their kids out this week with flu like symptoms. Get your Vit C and all your B's and wash your hands often. If you get it then get your fluids and keep your temp down. 104 and above and you need to see the doc!!!

There has been a 24-48 hour bug working its way north. A few weeks ago everyone in my family had it including 80 year old grandfather. It is the flu the first day, then slowly give way to cold like symptoms the 2nd day, and basically a cold the next 1-3 days. After that you are back to normal, but this was a nasty run.

Hey Cmorg,
Those same symptoms are really all over the place where I live in Ohio, My grand daughter had similar symptoms with the fever and was taken to Childrens Hospital, where at first they thought it was first stage of pneumonia, then the next day afte a breathing treatment turned out to be bronchitis, after several days of meds she is fine. That and the stomach flu is really going around, hope your family heals quickly. |

Cmorg, Please understand that I am saying this with all do respect to you. I am basing my thoughts on the last sentence of your first post. Which in fact, may no longer be the way you feel. And I also want to add, I am in no way saying that this is what you are showing. So please understand that I am only wanting to help; I also have kids.
Cmorg, no matter what... do not let your family see your fear. Do whatever it takes to suppress it, overcome it, or hide it from them, alright. I'm praying for you and yours Cmorg. Please keep us posted, okay. -Mark |

Clint, I had the flu last Wed-Sat. I missed 2-1/2 days of work. The comment about the flu moving north is absolutely correct. MY whole office has got the flu now. Though it appears to be a particularly nasty one this year, it hasn't been H1N1 here. Be on the lookout of course, but just wanted to let you know it's probably just a bad flu.

Ok Bryce , I think you are correct , as well as the others on here. I just wish my little girl felt ok. Last night was horrible. I probably should have taken her to the hospital. I just hope tonight is better , but she still has that 102 fever that never moves , even after taking motrin. I am sure last night it was over 103 , but the internet says thats not uncommon for children.

Well , now were off to get a blood draw on her , and a chest x ray. She developed a rash last night all over her body. What ever this s*&t is its horrible , and if were resposible for all of these funky viruses popping up , its just a matter of time before one wipes out everything. Maybe the 2012 prediction is correct.

Well , the lungs are good. The rash was caused by an allergic reaction to the two doses of dimetapp for the cold symptoms. Now , they gave us a steroid liquid to give her. Pretty much told us if she has trouble breating or runs another high fever to take her to ER. Her temp is around 99.6-99.2 now , but she is itchy all over and had a hard time going to sleep. Finally did a few minutes ago , but I know I will be up all night checking on her again. We havent given her the steriod , I am just tired of all the differant meds. I dont know if the steriod would even do her any good.

Awesome!
You are so very welcome Cmorg. I know where you're coming from... I have 2 daughters and a granddaughter of my own, so I know of the sadness and gladness that you felt. Give your little girl a big ol hug from me if you would! Keep us updated on your wife and the soon to be new arrival that you are expecting. I'm looking forward to hearing more good news! Take care -Mark |
