Tatsu Line

I have just returned from using my new Tatsu 20# test line. The first thing I noticed was that it is very hard to spool correctly or tie any type of knot due to it’s harden exterior. I read a review in which the word "supple" was used to describe the line. This is not the case at all! Moreover, I was unable to use any of my lighter baits due to the lines over-all weight. Yes, it is very durable but if you can't cast for any distance-without heavy baits, you are very limited in the presentations you use. I will not spend the money to replace the line; I'll go back to the braded and mono I have used with great resualts, and a lot less expence.
P.S. This line seems to be for bait-casters only as I have tried it on both spinning and bait-casting reels with the better results on a bait-caster reel.

Rocky were you using the 20lb test on a spinning reel?

The 20lb line on a spinning reel is definitely your problem. Any 20lb line is meant only for baitcasters (except braid). And even on a baitcaster 20lb will not work real well with light baits.

I rarely go over 8lb mono or fluoro on a spinning reel. And I rarely go over 15 on casting gear myself. Do yourself a favor and stop using such heavy line on spinning reels. Try yourself some 8-10lb Tatsu and I'm sure you'll be pleased. It is regarded as one of the best on the market.

I don't know what size spinning reel you have, but a typical size spinning reel for bass fishing will not fare well with mono or fluoro line at that #test, so your findings should not be surprising at all.

In addition, not all fc lines are equal. There are some that are definitely more limp, like SeaGuar's Invizx. I realize that it can be so easy to have a bad experience with a type of line and sign off on it as junk, but if the same logic were applied to dating women, we'd all be loners.

Imagine folks whose first venture into FC line was Vanish! Poor folks. Step on down to 6 or 8# Invixz for limpness on your spinning rig. If you need to go stronger in test, you can relegate such duties to your casting outfits, which would definitely better handle those lines.
