Default Skeet Reese disquaified

Just found out Skeet Reese disqualified himself for having too many fish in the the livewell. May have cost him a Classic berth.

Too bad for Skeet on the DQ but that sure speaks well of him as an honorable man and class act.

I can respect that. I am a Skeet Reese fan, and it's a bummer, but I am glad he did the right thing.

These kinds of things happen... when you are fishing and you are required to cull as soon as you have your 6th fish and you're catching several fish it can be hard to know what you've got at a givin time. A guy a few weeks ago in a Triton Owners tournament actually brought 6 fish to the scales by mistake.

Hopefully Skeet will get voted into the post season. He's had a tough one and it would be nice to finish it on a high note.

Ive seen this. Guy gets out a small fish to cull... figures which one he wants to keep, and puts a cull tag on it and puts in in the live well... Then he has a fish in his hand that should go back in the lake... but your brain is so trained, you have a muscle memory that tells you..."I have a bass that is a keeper in my hand.. throw in livewell."... So you just throw it in the livewell and dont even really know you are doin it.

I think I even watched an angler blow a UMF match this way... cant remember who it was.

That was Mark Davis, I think. I also think Luke Clausen done the same thing a few years ago in UMF.

I put a culling ball on every fish that goes in the livewell and I have five balls for each of my two livewells (one livewell for me and another for my co-angler). When the fifth ball is used then I know it's culling time. The habit it that they don't go in the livewell without a culling ball. AFter a while that becomes habit.
