Only the biggest lake in the state, take a look at Candlewood. Any small pond will usually have a good population of bass also.

We could have made a road trip!!! I drove up to MA yesterday myself! I lived in MA for a couple years long ago and have relatives all over the NE area. Conn, like the rest of NE, has a lot of small local ponds that are rarely fished....for bass. There are a lot of trout and perch fisherman around but bass and bluegill are considered trash fish for the most part. Or maybe things have changed.
I'd find a local tackle shop and see. Or just drive around and check things out. If there is a swimming area on the pond then more than likely it's a public lake. Check with the locals to see if it can be fished from the shore. Some communities/HOA's own ponds so make sure they aren't private. |
