Why do I read these things at dinner time? Sounds like a party and a half. Dare I ask what the family does New Years?

Dang that sounds good. My family has made Mexican food on Christmas Eve since I was a little boy so there is no reason to change this year.

I like the seafood on this menu, but I come from a "traditionalist" family, so seafood never plays a dominate role. Here's our Christmas day menu(which I started prepin' today.) Apps: Crab Stuffed mushrooms Swamp fire shrimp Cold smoked salmon rolls Prosciutto wrapped grilled white and green asparagus Brie Encroute Onion tart w/creme fraiche Asian glazed baby back ribs Main: Prime rib roast w/ au jus Herb roasted fingerling potatoes Braised greens w/ fennel Brussel sprouts w/ panchetta Ginger candied carrots Haricot verte w/shallots Rst'd maple glazed winter squash Rst'd wild mushrooms w/rosemary Lots of beer, champagne, and wine, followed by lots of coffee. Desserts???? whatever the rest of the family decides to bring...sometimes it sucks being a professional chef. Luckily dinner is late because I have to organize, prep., and cook at the shelter @ 5 am. |
