As a worldwide tradition I am surprised how many have never heard of it. It is fat Tuesday and starting in several hours will be the end of sugar for me. At least till Easter.
Coffee will not be the same.
How about black eyed peas on New Years day.?
Or stolen on xmas eve.
Corned beef and cabbage on St Patricks Day. Green beer...
Snitztel on October 2nd,,

Any others?

after spending 17 plus years in the HOME OF MARDI GRAS (mobile,al) capt, i have had my share of KING CAKE i promise oyu. moonpies, beads, boobs.............yeah seen it all. it's ok if oyu like it. i did have a problem with all the grown ups dressing up for the balls. seemed like they were re-living high school proms every year. rather boring to me really.

i do like the saturday parade though, military parade behind the kids parade. plus oyu get more stuff form that parade. seen a lot of folks hammered and get hammered (litterly) during the nightly parades. one person (male i think) got beheaded one year after a horse drawn cart, wagon or something was spooked on purpose. not a pretty site to say the least. men getting their ladies to show her boobs for beads, then fighting other men for looking. stupid is as stupid does i suppose. lol.

Nah I'm picturing a salty ole Sea Capn covered in slime and scales, smelling like day old mullet guts walking up the dock sipping espresso from a tiny little bone china Mikasa tea cup with his left pinky held high in true prissy fashion then gracefully belching the obligatory..."Ahhhhhhhh"

And of course for added effect you're doing this on Richard Simmons Bday while wearing a pink do-rag and silk mini-shorts and a mesh tank top and sequined flip flops.

There must be a video camera down at the dock. That's what I'm thinking.
