I haven't shed a tear in years...but it's hard not to get choked up for those young guys, knowing how important a Tourn. like this can be. Def a life changing event.

Way to go Chris!!!

I must say I am looking forward to footage of his "giant bass" on Day 3.

He really showed how to represent the Classic Championship. He showed a lot of class and humility. I didn't know much about him before the classic, but I've developed a lot of respect for the guy. Congrats Chris, well done!

Way to take it away for the Florida boys!!! Congrats!

I personally would have rather seen Greg Vinson or Alton Jones win it, but I think Chris did a great job accepting the trophy and really showed sportsmanship, I really liked it when his brother came out celebrated with him!

bassmaster.com's website really blows. Why am I not surprised? Oh that's right....they're part of ESPN! The same Higher IQ site that thinks Mel Kiper knows what he's talking about!

Actually ESPN and BASS parted around a year ago!

I am really happy for Chris Lane. He and his brother Bobby seem to be really good people and very family oriented. It was really cool seeing Bobby run out on stage to give his brother a congratulatory hug. (Bobby ended up 20th after a bad day 3 but was very much in the hunt) It was nice to see someone other than KVD win one and it was even nicer to see one of the good guys in the sport win.

I thought ESPN sold BASS as well but they are still broadcasting the Classic next weekend.

See this link to take you to what it looks like. It attempts to give updated standings based on estimated weights, but for the most part it doesn't seem to be all that accurate to me. A 4oz. difference was estimated in the top 2 finishers -- turned out to be 3-ish pounds in actuality if I remember correctly. I think it estimated a close finish last year also and was WAY off.

BASSTrakk - "The BASSTrakk numbers are unofficial estimates made by the BASS Marshalls in the boat with the angler, and all angler information is subject to the available cell service in the area he is fishing. The information on BASSTrakk may not be complete or accurate."

Yeah, I've never put much (read "any") faith in Basstrakk. If one marshal is a little liberal in his guesstimates, and another one is stingy, what looks like a close race could really end up being several pounds' difference, like Dean said.

He might live in Alabama but he is from Florida LOL.

I was really happy to see Chris Lane win the Classic. Honestly there wasn't anyone that made the cut that I didn't want to win. I really like Edwin Evers and David Walker, but I was also pulling for Keith Poche and the Lane brothers too. I knew the Lane brothers are close, but I heard today that Chris is paying for his brothers 2012 Elite Series entry fees out of his Classic money, which totals around $40,000. I thought that was a pretty cool thing for him to do.

Yeah, they agreed that if one of them won it, they would pay the other one's entry fees this season. I don't know if anyone was more excited about Chris' win than Bobby. It's also crazy that Chris is already a double qualifier for next years Classic and the regular season hasn't even started yet.

It hasn't come on yet. We all watched the weigh ins online and Kory was there in person. They are editing all the footage this week and it will come on ESPN2 for the first time next weekend.

Here is the tv schedule
