So I have to ask are you right handed or left..

Also I found that grip (hockey) tape on the top of the reel where your thumb goes helps alot..

Ambidextrous

What does the tape help?......hook set? casting? grip in general?

I read somewhere that Steve Kennedy buys all those Bantams he can find, gets them in good working order and that's all he uses.

That one is a work horse. Use it with chatterbait although I'm thinking about switching it out with the newer 7:1 model. Tough to catch up to the bass with the 6:1 sometimes....

A lot of guys really like them, use them, and hang on to them like the old Lew's reels. Knew a guy who sold all his, switched to another brand, sold them and switched again and now wishes he had kept the Bantams.

That B&W is pretty cool. How in the world do you go back and forth with lh and rh... I guess whatever works for you. Nice pic

Thanks....be careful how you phrase things. Bama is lurking and he's looking for payback...Sippi has made some comments recently

Learned on rh reel back in the day when really the only choice was rh. Added lh reel when friend let me test one out. Was a real easy switch for me. Also I've broken some fingers over the years that have had to be splinted or casted so you adapt if you want to fish. Now I use both due to shoulder injury, SLAP tear, in my right shoulder. My right shoulder gets tired quickly so I switch. I crank holding rod in my left hand and pitch/flip with rod in my right. But I can fish any bait with lh or rh.

I've never learned to cast left handed really well but I've tried and could do it if I had to.

The hockey tape allows the thumb on the top of the reel to stay put without excess griping. This allows you to pivot and pitch or side sling a bait with out creating tennis elbow or carpal tunnel. With the tape in place one could hold the entire rod and reel with just your thumb and index finger. You place it right where thumb goes on top bar..

Try it and you will love it.

Looks like crap but works.

Looks like you have got your money's worth out of them. I love the Curado 100Ds. Isn't that the first one? I like my Bs for the integrity they have had over the years. But the D is a flat out smooth beast.

Default Might just work

Huh you bring up some interesting points. My right thumb and left shoulder are my distractions, maybe I outta get a few LH casters and see what happens. All of my spinners are set up LH and casters are RH. Could work for none accurite critical casts for some recovery time, like flipping etc...

The more I think about it the more I think it would work. Sometimes the most obvious solutions are right in front of you.
