Default Did something pretty cool today.

A lot of people don't know this but the Disney Pixar movie Cars is based on a few towns that are just a few minutes down the road from us. 4 women went together and bought the old station that is the inspiration for one of the buildings in the movie and have made a musuem out of it. Today Britney and I took Lake to go see it and we all had a good time. The lady that was working there today is one of the owners of the building and she was more than happy to tell us all about how the movie came to be and how the producers pulled up in front of her place in a white limo and spen hours looking around doing research for the movie.

Here is the actual truck that Tow Mater is based on. The lady said that when the producers first saw him he was pushed back behind the building with a tree growing through his boom.

Here is Lake standing in front of Tow Mater.

Here is Lake driving Tow Mater.

Here is Lake hanging out of the firetruck that the character Red is based on.

One of the stories that the lady told us was about a local guy that lives in this little town. He is double jointed and can actually turn both of his feet completley backwards so that his toes are pointed behind him. He is something of a celebrity in this little town and to honor him Disney made the character Tow Mater drive backwards a lot of the time.

That is really cool! When you sent me that picture I knew immediately what it was but I didn't know it was the real Tow Mater. Cars is one of my little nephew's favorite movies.

Very cool, Kory. That little fella's going to be taller than you in no time. You have a great family, bro. I'm proud of you and Britney. Nicely done, my friend.

Thanks fellas, we had a great time. After getting so much information from the lady about the movie, we went home and watched it again. It was really neat to see how much stuff we had overlooked in the movie that was from around here.

Cool story Kory. And Laken acts the part very well.

We had an all time classic filmed here a couple of decades ago. Some of the people I work with were extras in the movie. I think most of you have heard of it---Dirty Dancing.

Laken grows some with very picture you post on here. A handsome Little Man.
I love the picture of him looking out the window.

Thanks Ron, we are trying to do all the things with Lake that we can while he is young. You know, before we don't know anything LOL.

Dirty Dancing huh? While not nearly as cool as Cars, it is a classic and it's cool that it was filmed there LOL.

That is good stuff Kory. We love taking trips, and like you said, a majority are for the kids. Hopefully me and momma will get our time one day, but for now, we enjoy the mammaries, I mean memories. I been offshore a while again.

Good point John, we really need to get him a Mizzou hat.

Honestly they have so much done on the house that I just want to hold off on the pictures untill it's finished. I will be sure to post pictures when they are finished though.
