8 Casts

On thursday I took the pond boat out to a very private pond I have access to. It was my brother, a friend who fishes as much as I do, and me.

This pond has been great to us, because no one fishes it. I fished it 4 or 5 days in a row with my brother and uncle two weeks ago and my uncle caught a 5 and a 6. And we caught a good many, but nothing like some of the other trips in the past.

Anyway, back to the original story. On thursday we got out early and were throwing some topwater frogs, and I had a little tap early on a finesse jig. Finally caught one a spro popping frog. But then, started throwing a spro little john crankbait over the shallow grass. And then on my first 8 casts caught 7 fish. This was over two re-ties and drifting down and moving back up the pond because of the wind. It was crazy!!!!

Just had to share, new record for me I'm pretty sure.

i wish i had a chance to fish a hardly fished pond, i fish a few private lakes that get to beat to death, i manage, glad ya had fun

Yeah, when I meet people I always ask if they live on a pond, just gotta try to find the em. And it's an awesome pond. But 2 weeks ago the fish kinda shut down for 3 days.

That is awesome. My record for consecutive casts is 3 with bass and 5 for trout. You are blessed to have such access to a honey hole.

Had similar experiences will river smallmouth! When ya find a good pool of em, you can sit and catch one right after another like that!

Congrats on the new outting. Since that pond doesn't get fished very often, it might be a good pond for practicing new techniques.
