b-day present
So what should I get as a B-day pres. I kinda need a new finnesse rod, cause the one I have now is falling apart. Any suggestions on a combo less than $90? I also want to get a cast net and another net for netting minnows, mullet, greenbacks, and just for the sake of netting stuff, its fun to see what you get sometimes. Any ideas?

Get a Fenwick Eagle Gt for 50, then get a Mitchell Avocet or 300 for 20-30 bucks.

Shimano Makes Good Spinnning Reels. I Got The Sedona I Think For Like $50 This Year And It Took Me A Little While To Get Used To How Much Farther It Would Cast Than My Old Quantum. I Was Throwing On The Bank Every Cast For A While. It Is A Really Nice Reel.

I Shouldnt Single Out Quantum When I Say That. My Spinning Real Was About The Cheapest One Available. I Got It When I Was Like 10 And That Was All The Money I Had I Shouldnt Make It Sound Like Quantum Are Inferior. I Love And Own A Three Of Their Baitcasters.

Powerbass, are the Mitchell Avocets really a good reel? I was thinking about buying one the other day, but wanted to read up on it first. It seems like a really smooth reel, and its much cheaper than the Quantum PTi I am wanting.

Powerbass
I would get the Pt if they are going to last long but if not I would get a cheaper reel and use the rest on line hooks and bait. I read somewhere where a great rod is better than a great reel because you need the rod to feel.

Ken,
The Avocet is a great reel! It is all I use! Spool it with 8-10 lb test and you are good to go!
