dyas
in the state of nc they have a very good magzine called north carolins sportsman.
it has a section called fishing forcast look for fontana lake -it's in there- quoting from the rag ..
" there is going to be alot of surface activity.it shuts off once the sun hits the water." also eyes are coming to the surface at night under lights.
now having fished alot of nc water this is kinda vague but i would have a pop-r tied on of some kind.4" worms are a must leave home anything big -baby bush hogs, spinner baits,ect..
in clear water that is normally found in that lake they see a spinnerbait too well and will not hit it. i would use a shad rap #5 in shad or green craw colors. fontana is quite deep.

Yeah its deep. I didnt get to go out in a boat but I fished from the marina though. I caught one on non other that the great and mighty............................................ ...................................... tiki............................... I think we are going back one day or week. You could probably see probably 8 or 9 foot down. Clear and beutiful. But I put three days into the trout pond and got nothin. I suck at trout fishing. I used live bait, 4 different flies, and a spoon and 2 diffrent crankbaits. I lost one on each crankbait one of which the bill was torn off of by a rather large trout.........

i clicked on that link and saw fontana village NC and nearly crapped! I had forgotten about that place, my family went there in the late 50s and early 60's for vacation , back in its hay day of the dam being built and it all opening to the public
