Hey i noticed we have a few hunter in here. Since this a non related fishing thread i won't get in trouble for asking a hunting question. What time to you guys like to go out hunting. I like to go out for evening hunts but i don't like to sit all day so i like to go out only a few hours before dark. What time do you think would be a good time to go to the tree stand. If you got anything about going out in the morning let me have it.

Set my stand up, and be in the stand and settled down well before daybreak. Good hunting.

I like still hunting in the afternoon. But when we are running dog drives I hunt all day. I shot a nice 8 this past weekend but it was a gut shot. We tracked him all the way back to a swamp and lost his trail. Give me some credit though it was a 38 yard shot with a bow and the wind was probably blowing 15-20 mph. It makes me sick to the stomach. It had probably a 19" spread which is pretty big for this far south.

Biggest deer I shot came at around 11am, when all the other hunters get out of their stands and start moving around. They will flush the deer to you if you have the patience. When I did hunt a lot I was in my stand 1- 1/2 hour before sunrise, sit until my butt couldn't take it any longer. Go get some lunch, then back to still huntig for a little while, then back in the stand by 3:30. I prefer morning hunting, just because you can find the deer that day, don't need to come back.

Ill sit all day. Love to hit an early morning strike though. Drag it out, clean it and have time for lunch and a nap. Then hopefully get lucky before dark. If I leave my stand, usually back in before 3-330.
