need windows 2000 help

does anybody happen to have a windows 2000 system or repair disc?..i'd be willing to pay a reasonable amout if you could let me use it.my old 'puter has a bunch of stuff in it and i'd like to get it running again.something got deleted in the start up or something.i'm just guessing as i don't know much about puters.thanks

i save everything iuse on disc my self but the problem is your puter is the ME edition since i went to the XP,XP PRO i have had a ton less problems with the system...

Zooker, the XP program has a license # you have to register.It can only be used for 1 computer.You can install it in Toms , but after so many days he will have to buy the program to continue using XP. Tom, your best bet is to find an old windows 98 program.This program can be used without a purchase of it.I hope this helps. P N J

I'd uninstall winders2000 and go to a CompUSA for about 30 bucks install windowsXP, you're going to lose what ever you had, but get a fresh new start.
Does your pc start at all ? does windows open? does the net work?
If so, I'd look for bugs like viruses or spyware, you can get freedownloads for ad-adware http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ or free antivirus (www.avast.com)
Run those and you'll probably find about 700 tracking bugs, that can really slow your pc down.
If you cant get it to run at all, but it still will turnon, you need to go to start and run, and type in MISCONFIG and have someone that knows pc registry lingo to look for programs that are "suspicious" on start up..I bet that is what your problem is.
If so, those free programs mentioned or even Spybot could take care of it.
If you dont have a system restore disk, If all else fails just find someone that has XP or go buy a copy and install, you can just follow the directions like NEXT and so forth.
I work on peoples pcs and this is the procedure I usually follow when they get bogged down..

Call the Geek Squad I also don't know anything bout puters, but I call my brother who fixes it. I don't care how he fixes it, and don't wanna know how he fixes it.

thanks a bunch guys....just found out a friend of mine knows all about puters and he has ways to fix it.just gotta bribe him with some beer.
