Polly an Ground Hogs Day

Ground Hogs Day is a great day here at are farm. And me and Polly and elmer always celebrate this day, cuz it wuz tha day that me and polly got hoked. We fly tha flag about as high as we can get it, and we dont eat no ground hog and no carp on this day. We dont even cath carp on this day. And it wuz on ground hogs day that polly got her name, and i will always remember pollys moma telling me why she named her polly. Mis Slougenhop sade her and Amos was setten on tha porch on there farm when this big ole bird come a flying in one day and landed on the porch and started skuaking and a screaming like it had no sence saying polly wunt a kraker, sade it skeered em, sade Amos run into tha house to get a gun to skere it away, and she sade no, no, its jest a wierd bird trying to tells us sumthin. she sade it jest kept saying polly wunt a kraker, she sade she had sume old left over biskets from last week, an she went in an got one of them ole biskets an give to that bird, and before you knew it, she sade them three wuz havun a intlegint convursashun..Now somehow some way Amos an Agnus got to funneying around and next thing Agnes knowd she wuz in the famely way. Yep, tha populashun of that country went from 2 to 3. she didnt have a name fur tha little one, so she sade that big ole bird kept saying polly want all tha time. so on ground hogs day it happened, and Amos named tha little girl polly. (after that bigole bird) Amos sade when that bird toke one look at that little baby , he sade that bird stuck its nose strate up toward the sky and started flapping her wings and flew straight up and out of sight and they aint nevur seen that bird since. ...So allot of years later I met polly thru a male order catalog fur brides, she sade she lived in Rushfork West virgenie. Well i been allover tha cuntry an aint nevur herd of that one. anyway i finally found out whur it wuz, an i got myself a bus ticket to go met my bride. And that bus went for three days and finally run out of road, and then I had to rent a taxi in this one taxi town, and he drove me about two hours until we could go nomore, thats when I had to rent me a horse from a farmer. I ask that farmer if he knew Amos Slougenhop, and that I wus going there to mary his daughter Polly.. He sade he had nevur heard of them. Enyway I got on his horse and rode about six hours, and it got so bad that I jest culdnt go no more on that horse, so I tied tha horse to a tree and started walken, and I walked for five more hours and it wuz like walken through tha jungle, I could hardly walk through all tha vines an underbrush, so I found me a grape vine and I acted like tarzan, cuz I knowd I wuz a gettin close to polly, so I swung in on that grape vine jest a screamin and maken all kinds of noise from one tree to another, but when I got to tha house, they wouldnt nobody there...But there wuz a big ole sign that polly had rote that sade "welcome carpmam, me and daddy have gone out to tha Country to git an owl for dinner, we will be back shortly" so we can celebrate ground hogs day with you.. I nevur heard of anybody liven that far back in the country that they had to use hoot owls fur chickens, but then I had nevur met enybody like the Slougenhops before. Polly wuz a lookur and a woman that I wanted to settle down with..They must a knowd we wuz getten hooked that day, cuz they wuz a lot of peeple there, musta been 5 ere 6. And boy wuz I proud to get hoked with polly that day, rite there on tha porch. And thats when her moma told me how Polly got hur name. She sade that bird landed on their porch when she wuz in the family way with polly, and gave polly her first name. And she sade carpman ,now youre the big bird that landed on the porch this time and youre gonna give Polly her last name...And I aint nevur regretted a munute of it. And eny of you that got hooked on ground hogs day kno what im talken about. Aint nothun like it ..Its a great thing
