Me and my buddy went out to good ol KY lake today, didn't catch anything. We stopped at a creek on the way back home, caught 10 fish in 45 minutes. The biggest would have gone around 3.5 w/ 5 or 6 in the 2+ pound range. Not a bad start for the month, but hopefully I'll be catchin some of those big momma prespawners on KY lake before long!!
Oh yeah, caught them on senkos. Slack line popping them and letting them free float down the creek. |

We fish from the bank.
Me and K-Driz went out today on the same creek, but a different stretch. Tore the fish up. Started off w/ senkos fishing them slow, and picked up quite a few fish. We then switched over to spinnerbaits, only caught 1, and then jerkbaits and preceded to completely destroy fish!! We caught about 30 in the last hour of fishing, ended up the day, K-Driz - 27, me only 26. ![]() Great starts to March.....this month is panning out pretty good. |

We hosted our second ESPN Smashmouth qualifier today. The first was last saturday. We started up last march, and we havn't stopped. KY Lake tournaments ended at the end of november, and we've fished Lake of Egypt all winter. Next weekend is our next tournament that is going to be held out of Lick Creek in Dover, TN. We fish several different college fishing divisions including ABA (which are most of our events), ESPN Smashmouth (a new college trail started up a couple year ago by espn), and a new Fox Sports Net college program (Just starting this year). Keep an eye out for us and you'll see us on tv around next october.
I'll take a second to push a tournament of ours as well. We're hosting a fundraising event for our college so we can afford to drive down and fish invitationals against other schools. Murray is not funding us at all so we have to raise all of our own money. The tournament (MURRAY STATE BASS ANGLERS FUNDRAISER) will be held on April, 29 out of Kentucky Dam Village. Entry is $60 w/ a $10 big bass. Payout is 80% w/ $1000 going to first based on a full field. If anybody is interested, personal message me, and I'll get you signed up. This event is going to be pretty neat. A lot of good sponsors have decided to help us out by giving us some good doorprizes, and FLW is going to let us use one of their weigh in stages and MC to run the tournament. Hope to see a lot of you there. |
