Did anyone else recieve a copy of "Advanced Bass Fishing Skills" book from B.A.S.S. in the mail today? It has quite a bit of information in it, but at $10.95 for the introductory copy, and who knows how much for future issues, I am not sure I want to subscribe. I think person could get just as much information out of Bassmasters or Bassin' magazines at $12.00 a year.
The "Collectors Coin" that they included was kind of cheezie, in my opinion. I don't know what a "Collectors" coin has to do with fishing. Just some more junk to clutter up my junk drawer. My grandkids are too old to give it to, they would look at me like "What the he!!, I can't spend this crap on video games"
I had just not seen anything about the book on the site tonight, so I was just wondering if anyone else had gotten a copy.

I recieved something similar last year from Bassmasters. I sent it back, because I didn't want to continue to get books in the mail. I think it's just a way for them to get more $$ out of you. I am sure the books probably have good info in them, but i learned my lesson on kids books years ago. I spent lotsa $ subscribing to those book clubs and they outgrew the books quickly.

Funny thing there Jackl. I know u and I are old enough to remember when BASS was the magazine to read. Used to have REAL info and not the repetitive junk they write nowadays. I spent $350 dallars many moons ago to become a lifetime member, now there are times I wish I had the money back what with all that they represent now.

JackL,if they sent you the book without you ordering it,you can keep it...Laser i know the feeling...i wish i could cash in my life membership to B.A.S.S..but there's only one way to do that and i ain't ready to die yet..

I recieved the book last year and kept it. They will not send you any more books unless you pay for the first one.

And the coin is really cheesy. I think my 18 month year old kid stuck the coin in one of my plants. I guess he thought it was cheesy also.

it is a crappy book. does not really tell you any thing you could get in a regular bassmaster's rag. i am currantly switching to flw and dropping b.a.s.s. membership. imo if you want to find the best info on the hottest techique. either a good web site -like this one- or bassin advanced tech rag..

I think either BASS or NAFC sent me 2 books once, and then sent a bill...I never responded. That was like 4 years ago. They got the picture.

If they want to give out free books, I'll take em...but I don't pay for stuff I don't order. They know the rules of the game just like I do, they sent a bill and hoped I didn't understand their game; after a while they realized that they werent getting any money out of me so they moved on to the next guy on their list.

ZOOK whats this bassin advanced tech rag you talkinbout. Always need GOOD info not repeated info ina differant format like everyone elses. And I am with you bassintom I got to many fish to catch still. In fact when I die it will be with a rod inmy hand and ina boat going 80+ mph if I have my choice.

it is put out by bassin they have a speciel rag evey 6 months called advanced techquies.. good aticale on shakey head rigs in it..
