Default River Smallies From Shore

Well, I am gonna go to the Delaware River in search of early spring smallmouth. However i wont be taking my boat, only becuase this are I live near is rocky, shallow, and a few guys have been busting props in this area. So I decided to go to shore. Now I want to travel Light, my vest, and 2 spinning rods. My vest holds 2 3500, the small semi pocket sized utility boxes, 5-9 compartments. I also have pockets were i could fit soft plastics, spinnerbaits, whatever. What lures would you take at this time of year for shallow water 7-9 foot is max depth, clarity is stained water, water temps should be near 50 or just above.

I'd use X-Raps, traps and spinners. At that temp the crawdads should becoming active so use some cranks in a crawdad pattern. A few topwaters, tiny torpedos, maybe some pop-r's. Plastics try sweet beavers, crawdads, shakeyhead rigs and some finesse worms. maybe some flukes too. That should cover it.

Yes to both questions. Rattles on your jigs are good for the stained water. Good luck. I haven't been fishing in all this nice weather due to a bad hand. It should be better by this weekend. Maybe Sunday even though it is Easter.

i would try lipless cranks in a shad pattern (Rat-L-Trap in a silver w/ blue or black) Or try throwing a Rapala Glass Shad Rap in Citrus!
