???? I think this is to see responses?????

Well this is my response- THERE is no BEST in bass fishing. The FISH AND ONLY THE FISH will tell you what the best is!!! One thing could be the best one day, but the worst in the next day! IT all depends on what the fish want!

Well to save time I'll end this here. As a new guy I can go on and say whats considered stained, never fished it before dont know if theres wood there etc...take up 2 pages worth of posts and still not know anything. Alot of people come here to learn and after the 2 pages of whats this and whats that and after all the questions are answered we might come up with 15 different baits for the guy to try. Now he will have learned what stained water, structure, cover and everything else is but he still wants to catch a fish.

In this case why not tell him throw a white spinnerbait? Will it be the best bait for the day? Who knows. But it will start them somewhere. It works in a ton of conditions stained water ,clear water, muddy water ,grass, wood. I'd say more than likely he'll catch a fish. Then come back asking for more. But basicly it's simple to use. Simplicity is the best for a beginner in pretty much anything.

By telling a guy there is no best then bombarding him with questions would discourage alot of people. Not only this they will feel helped and not ridiculed.

I'm not directing this at anyone in paticular. 02 I'm gonna use you as an example though. You seem pretty knowledgable about fishing but when you first went did you ask anybody or even wonder what the best bait was? It's no different for the new guys.

i cant remember, but i probally did.......i like the simplicity idea....but what happens when he asks whats the best bait...we tell him...white spinnerbait....he goes out to use it......zeros out...then says ''well, if i cant catch a bass on this white spinnerbait which is suposed to be the best........then i cant catch bass'' then he might just loose faith in the sport........we can tell him there is no best....then say ''not knowing the specifics of the lake...i would try a white spinnerbait'' that could work 8)

Ya I'm knew 2 fishun, but wat a guy from Ill. shud do is chunk a ultimate jig all day to them until they get used to it , then one day they will just bite it so you can catch those fish over 15 pounds in the pond.Any one can catch 5 lbers all day long, but you have got to be really tricky with the 15 lbers.Maybe wear camo and be sure to paint your face, they can see who you are if you don't. Don't use no trailers, big bass ain't trailer trash, they will get used to a plain jig faster unless you have to use your trailers , then match them up the same or put the camo paint 2 them 2. If fo sum resun it works tell um the pig that I am Jig said it is so.

See 02 I believe there is always a best bait. You just never know which one it is. I'm not saying that there are lures that work everytime you throw them. I also believe that if the guy gives up that easy he aint in it for the long haul anyway.
