Lake Berryessa 4.27.06
My Dad and I went out with a good buddy on his Champion for what turned out to be a awesome day on the water...We got on the water at 0600. Water temps were a nice 60 degrees at first launch(saw it get high of 69/70). We had the warmest day of the year(yup got sunburned lol). We tried topwater first thing. My buddy missed a smallie but my dad stuck her throwning a ripbait. She was a spawned out fish but should have weighed around 3 1/2. We found a great rip bite. Actually we caught fish on everything we used...Rip, blade, dropshot, senko, jig, splitshot and T-rig. My Dad got most of the rip fish and this was only the 3rd time he ripped. We did see alot of cruisers in the shallows and saw a few Lm on beds. We got to see some cool wildlife too. We saw a deer swimming toward a island, this deer must have swam over 1/2 mile to get there. Saw ALOT of ospreys and 1 bald eagle(she was munchin on something in a tree). I think we caught somewhere around 40-50 fish. We caught them all smallies, spots, LM AND 2 trout. What can I say was a AWESOME day.
