Fish the down current side of piling with crank baits and the up current the same or with a jig or soft plastics. The up current will have brush piled up on it from being carried from down river

You will probably do better fishing under rather on the bridge if you can get under it. Regardless, fish with the current, and nb said it-the upstream piling will probably have the best cover.

bass face the up stream direction fishing the up stream side. 99% of the food they eat flows down with the currant. craws work very well in a currant situation most of the time. remember you will likely need a heavier weight to get it down near the bottom. fishing the flood trash is #1 half the fun#2 costly exspect to lose a bunch of terminal tackle. cranks i would not recomend. spinner baits -only if the currant is slow. a lot of bigger creeks and rivers may look slow on top but have a very fast -and dangerous-under currant -called under tow- a spinner bait reeled at medium speed would not run very well as the skirt would in gulf the arm and interfear with the blades.. bass in a river move alot in position they will stay near structure/currant breaks. but not always in the same place. check the corrners on occasion as the direct currant turns will have active feeding bass up ionto the fast water to get food..

was actually doing a little bit of fishing off a bridge this week. Had a little bit of luck. River was much like you described, not wide, shallow on side, deep in middle, which only means one thing, sharp drop offs. Carolina rigs are good pulling it down and hopping down the droppoff works well. it was hot in the day and the fish were mostly feeding on insects on the topwater near shadelines. I was throwing crankbaits, the most luck I had is when I quit cranking, let it float to the top and then drift slowly under the bridge. Also had a little sucess with a carolina rigged zoom ultravibe craw. keep in mind, the bridge will provide shade and now that its summer time the bass will be seeking this out. They'll also be suspending in deep water so a deep diving crankbait would be a good choice, can cast far out, crank to get it down deep, then when you get near the bridge near the shade line from the bridge, quit cranking and let it float up and drift with the current. Lost one that looked to be 4-6 lbs. caught him on the zoom ultravibe craw near a weedline and dropoff with nearby structure.
