It's really more important to simply go when you can. Keeping a log of barometer readings, moon phases, water and air temp, wind, etc. is a big help.
There is a period of the moon three days before a full moon, during the full moon, and three days after the full moon in which 41 percent of the world record fish (fresh and saltwater) have been caught, but notice the other 59 percent were not caught in that period during any given month. Fish when you can, keep a log. Also note in your log what is going on in nature when you go.....such as what trees or plants are in bloom or budding out, what the cows are doing in a field, gathered together, spread out, at the top or bottom of the hollow, etc., what birds are doing, flying high or low, etc. |

A couple of days prior or after a full moon is pretty good fishing, concentrate on a crawdad imitation.

personally, ive caught the biggest fish of my life on a NO moon night, or a waning crescent moon, which is the smallest the moon gets. I pay NO attention to moon phase. I do however pay attention to weather. Fronts make a huge difference.

depends on the time of year, but general rule, rain will bring them closer to the banks, they search for forage...a night of lightning around hear, and good luck trying to find them the next dawn
