Post A pic of the lake as well a pic of the water color. Look for bait indicators such as smaller fish, frogs ect... These things will give you hints on what to use for bait. Tell us what you already have used for bait, tackle ect... I'm sure we all could come up with a game plan for ya. P.S tell us how deep the water is and the temperature is. Describe us the lake, pond or where you fish in as much detail and we can help you out.

Well, lets take a look at where/how you are fishing. What kind of water-clear, stained, muddy? Cover-weeds, lilly pads, grass, none? What kind of lures? Try to be specific. Are there fish in the spots you are fishing? Sounds like a stupid question I know but there may not be fish-for example, a pond that dired up before you moved there due to drought conditions but has filled up again. If you give us some specific conditions we can give you some specific suggestions.

OK-you are fishing worms-how are you fishing them? Just based on that description I would try fishing them weightless or wacky rigged. Throw them around the vegitation and slowly twitch them back in.

Weightless is just like a T-rig except no weight. Wacky:

There are a lot of things you can use-if all you are fishing is worms you are really limiting yourself. What other baits do you have in your tackle box?

Good mix. Throw topwaterw in the early morning/evening, spinnerbaits around the weeds and trees and I'd throw that Tiki Stick during the day. I would think with the variety of baits you have in your arsenal you would be catching more. Are you sure there are bass in the water you are fishing? If you have a lot of cats and mudfish there may not be.

Ok, so conditions are heavily stained water, just like anywhere else in FL, shallow water can be assumed, lots of vegetaation and lots of brush piles. First thing I would do is T-rig those zoom junebug worms w/ a bullet weight and fish all the areas where the vegetation and structure meet. Look for the spots with the most different types of vegetation/structure in the smallest areas and hit those. If you can find some clearings or weedlines fish those with chartreuse or white tandem spinnerbaits. If you're fishing early morning before the sun comes up, fish the weedlines w/ buzzbaits and other topwaters. During mid-day take a t-rigged worm/lizard/whatever and fish right in the middle of the vegetation.

You can, but the X-rap is a suspending slash bait, which means when you pull it under the surface it suspends and stays there-it won't float back to the surface after you twitch it like a floating Rapala will.

Don't get discouraged! I fished for two years in Illinois before I caught bass on a regular basis. My daughter who was 4 at the time caught a bass before I did. I finally ran into a guy who was knockin' dead and he was nice enough to give me a lure he was using. Watch how other people are doing and don't be afraid to ask! Also maybe you could save up some lunch money and go out with a guide a couple of times.

Iron Man:

I have been fishing lures for about a month now, and I have not caught anything with them. I have only caught one bass and it wasnt even at my local lake, it was at lake corpus christi in texas. I also need advice on how to catch bass with lures and how to work different kinds of them. I to dont have a boat but want to get one, can some one help me to?
I have lived here in Laredo all my life and yet fail to catch a single bass!

Thanks

Don't go to basspro and buy more stuff if you dont know what they are biting. Also, dont buy a fish finder for a pond when you don't have a boat. I would use that ticki stick weightless in any areas where there are fallen trees. You may want to try to fish topwaters at morning and in the night as well. You may just want to do what sw20 said as well...also, how long are you fishing a bait for? Don't just cast it out once, take it off and switch it. Take oen lure and fish it the whole time until you figure it out.

I didn't see it mentioned. What do you have on the line before the hook? Are you tying a leader with a snap swivel or another type of swivel? Are you just putting a snap swivel then the hook?

How is your line setup?

dont buy more stuff it would be useless... you already have stuff that can catch fish, buying more wont change a thing.

Mack usually if you have a little wind just let it set the waves in the water usually make it dance enough. If its calm water i just pop it up and down a little kinda like you do with gills if you have one toying with it. And snake just to irritate ya i hate those dang swivels i try to keep it as natural looking as i can.
