well i went up to a lake near houston called somerville, and its not the best place to fish but i found that the bass are crazy about buzzbaits this time of year! on my second cast of the day some hyperactive bass came and sucked te damn thing under...i set the hook and fought him for 15 seconds until my damn line snapped...and he took the buzzbait with him! then i forgot that i hadnt put new line on the spool before going out! I hate tht!!!! whoever catches that bass is gonna be a lucky man cause he gets a nice size bass and a damn lucky buzzbait.

Didn't know Sommerville had fish in it. I caught one bass the whole time I was in that neck of the woods.

Summerville is one of the lakes Bassintxlady and I frequent now and then, but it is low right now and you need to take care when crusing the shore lines in fiberglass boats. The bite was very good back in 2004 and 2005, but so far this year, it hasn't given us much reason to go back. When the water level rises to a normal level the fishing should improve. It's a popular lake for the wave runners and other recreational nutjobs.
Spinner baits/Rattletraps are good there too LoneStar, and Bassintxlady caught several nice bass last spring on tiki sticks. |
