Default big fish

Today i was fishing at a farm pond and my topwater frog and a spinnerbait didn't work out and i had some live nightcrawlers in the car so i decided to hook one up and put a bobber on, well i casted out and casted over a log..i didn't want it to get tangled in the log so i started reeling in and right about the time i got to the log my bobber went under and i started reeling in and thought it was the log and once i got it to the bank(about four foot high and i had no net) to my surprise it was a huge bass(i know you guys say that its usually smaller than your guess but this was a big fish) i'm guessing it was around five pounds and my stupid *** decided to grab the line and start pulling up and my 14 lb. test line snapped at the hook................................i'm still crying(woulda been my biggest fish)right after that i went to wal-mart and got a net and a digital scale...i will be going back tomorrow so i'll post maybe some pics if i can catch some decent sized ones.

Been there and done that. Guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching ;D. At least you know where he is so you can go catch him again ;D

:'(I'm tryin to lol. The weather turned bad after about 20 minutes fishing so that was the only fish I caught so I'm hoping most of the bass in there are of the same size. It was the first time i've ever fished this pond. I'll have an update later today hopefully. >

I went back today and all i caught was a dinky little catfish....i'm pretty mad lol. They don't seem to be hitting any lures, tried a jig n pig, crank, spinner, worm, popr, topwater frog...they just won't hit anything. I'm begining to think that the pond is mostly populated with catfish. It's been there for 80-90 years. > :-/ >

just cause you arnt catchin bass doesnt mean that its over populated with catfish. it just means you arnt catcchin them...there are soo many reasons why you arnt catchin bass. just keep tryin with new baits...make sure you dont have a foreign scent on your baits...and present them right 8)
