Exclamation Craziest fishing story

i wanted to hear some of your craziest fishing stories......i got one for ya

i was fishing at the pond across the street and i caught a huge bass i mean this thing was a MONSTER!!! and i was reeling him in and of course my line snaps. i was pretty flustered so i left after about another half hour of fishing. a couple of days later i decided to go again and i was just bobber fishing off the dock and i got a bite and was reeling in something big, i mean this thing was a fighter, so i pull the fish up and its like a 7 incher and i was surpurised that little thing had that much fight in him. but when i examined him further there was a line wrapped around this little fish like so i grabbed the end and started to unwrap all the linefrom around the fish and i felt a tug, i was stunned. so i pulled him in further and it was the monster i caught a couple days ago. i pulled him in close and he splashed me and the whole dock and what do ya know the line snaps again.... i think i almost cried

its prolly not my craziest fishing stories (there's a lot and hard to remember them all) but I lost a Lucky Craft Pointer one day when I got it snagged on something underwater. I left that day only to return to the lake a month later. I tied on a matzuo jerkbait and started throwing it. I got it caught up on something but was slowly able to reel in. I get the matzuo to the boat along with a clump of thin rope/twine. When I saw the rope I decided to pull the rest in so it wasn't littering the lake bottom. As I pull up the last clump I notice what appeared to be a fishing lure in the mess. I untangle everything and sure enough, I caught my luckycraft that I lost a month before.

Couple Weeks Ago My Dad And I Got Together And Went Fishing. I Was In The Front Of The Boat. I Had A Senko On, Skipped It Under A Bush And Had One Start Running With It Forgot I Had my finesse rod with 8 Lb. Test On And Ripped The Rod Up hard And Snapped My Line. My Dad Casts To The Same Place Has One Start Running. Hooks Up And Reels It In You Could See My Senko And Hook Going Down The Bass' Throat. First Time I Ever Heard Of That Happening.

I caught one of my Rat-L-Traps months later. It's always a good feeling to get a lure back. I lost a crankbait to a tree the other day. So, I tied on a jig to my 30lb braided line and was able to hook onto the crankbait on about the fifth cast at it. I pulled it right out of the tree.

I recently posted about hooking myself in the finger. The barb was down deep so I had a buddy push the hook through.

I posted this one before.

The crazyest fish story I have so far in my short fishing time is...

My wife, dauter, and I went to this lake by us here. Well the wife was casting out the line for our little girl and it went over the branch of this tree near by. She yelled for me to come help. When I got over there she had stated to real in like a second after the bait hit the water after going over the tree branch. When she realed it up out of the water there was a small little fish on the hook. So i tryed to get the line out of the tree but that was no go. then I tryed to just real real fast to maybe sling shot it over the branch. Well that only worked to get it really tangled up there. So I finaly had to just cut the line. When we left there that day, we left with the bait and the fish up in this tree, over the water. Some lucky bird had a good free meal!!!

Caught a 7' Berkley firestick w/ abu garcia ambassador reel attached to it. Cleaned it up, one of my best reels yet. Also, the rod was mated to a old BPS baitcaster. Nice throw around combo. Very stout rod, my start using it to pitch with. By the way NC, that would be a cut line very quickly.

Heres one for you, and its true. This thursday, me and my dad went to the chesapeake bay bridge tunnel, and we had nothing for an hour, so finally, I went to the van, to get my baitcaster, to use for lures. When I was walking back people were swarming around my dad, and his pole was bent double, so I ran over, and asked him what he had. He said it's either something big, or im snagged, well then, his drag started going out by the yards. Finally he fought it to the surface, and by now everyone on the pier was around us. He had a flouder as big as a trashbag, that would have gone around 30-35 lbs maybe state record, as soon as he got it a foot above the water our 20# test broke and we lost the monster and almost got sick.

last week my fishin buddie went to north carolina for some shore fishin for stripers i think, he was using some kind of live fish and as it was swimin around a pelican or sea gull whatever bird it was it took his fish and leader and all, he tried to set the hook but yanked it all back, right after he told me this as we were fishin a pond and one of those crian birds, the big white ones lands on the other shore he cast and it lands right on the bird( its a small pond) the bird takes of but once again he couldent set the hook. i guess were not good fly fisherman

I took my girlfreind fishing with me. She was gill fishin while i was flippin docks. She caught a little perch and killed it tryin to get the hook out. She tosses it back in the water and while im trying to exsplain she needs to set her hook before they swallow it a flock of seagulls decide to grace us with there presence. So after about five minutes ive had enough of there noise and decide that a bullet weight and a treble oughta catch me a bird. After about 20 tries i finally snag one so i set the hook and did so a we bit hard. Flipped myself outta the boat. After i get back in the boat a cruiser trolls on over its the dnr hed been watching the whole thing. He gave me an A for effort. He also let me in on a little tip there feathers pull out when you set the hook. He also told me that my trip in the drink was punishment enough hows that for a story. Also if you had a girlfreind that fished as much as you would you mary her.

Hows this for a story. I was fishing in a pond yesterday with my buddy Eric and my brother. We ran to Erics hous e real quick to get drinks and told my brother to watch the poles. As soon as we are leaving we see my brother coming up. So we told him when we tell him we will be back we will be back and we just walk down to the pond and Erics pole is no where to be seen so he's flipping out becasue its his new reel he just put on the pole. I start reeling in and go across the pond so that as i reel my line will cross over his if its still where he casted. becasue we had one pole in the water for Catffish just sitting on the bottom and we were using another pole too jig around for bass. i had a treble hook on and as im reeling i see his pole tip start coming out of the water my hook got caught inside one of the eyes on the pole then after i reel it in he starts reeling in his line and what do you know the fish was still on there. i told him i said your lucky that fish wasnt moving around on the bottom otherwise he probably wouldnt have got his pole back. but holy crap that fish had too pull hard too get his pole in the water his pole was in a pole holder that practically locks your pole into place then it had too get it over the rock wall. It was just a little catfish about a foot long. i felt bad for the fish though. He thought he got away and then after all that fight he gets reeled in. but of course we put him back.

My craziest fishing story has to be this... Last year, My friend and I went out to the CA Delta to do some striper fishing... Just a few minutes after I casted into the water( was using live bait, so my rod was just sitting there with a bell), I swore I got a bite, but nothing was fighting and it sure felt like nothing, so I left it alone... About 10-15 minutes passing by, I get a huge bite, so I set the hook and started to reel in... After a good few minutes of fighting the fish and bringing it to the surface, it was a decent sized striper, not state record or anything but a good keeper, but thats not the crazy part. The crazy part was that I had hooked a really small largemouth, and the striper went after him. Talk about a two for one deal...LOL... Turns out that first little bite was the small LM... If only I knew, I woulda reeled him in and let him go...

alright me and a friend were wading around some bullrush/lillypads/cattails and he was using a buzzbait he hooked into a fish and it manages to break his line around 45 seconds later he says man usually ude see the bass jump up and try throwing the buzzbait out of his mouth as soon as he finished saying that the bass jumped not 4 feet away from me i looked down and saw the chart buzzbait moving around i reach my hand down and manage to grab the 4 feet of fishing string or so and lift the 2 lber out of the water =) never gonna forget that one
