As tom would tell you their is no best lure but their is the most popular and that is soft plastics.

fishie23, the best bait to catch bass on is the one they want at any given time. Today it might be a crankbait. Tomorrow it might be a soft plastic. There is no magic bait that works every time out. Bass fishing is trial and error-the only way to find out if something will work is to throw it. That's why they call it fishing and not catching
