It's on the side of your reel and you make a flip on the switch and you hold you cast button down on your bait caster and soon as you take your thumb off the button the spool stops casting, it locks right away so you don't over spool. It's just for flipping and pitching.

I'm w/ you on this one JB. Sometimes when I do use it, I forget to take it off and then make a cast and ERRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHH. Looks like I'm going to be taking a 15 minute break to clear out this "professional overrun". So I just leave it off and pitch & flip w/out it.

Get the Shimano Castaic with the thumb bar. I assure you, you'll want 2-3 more.

I just don't fool around with feature like that. When I'm buying a reel, I'm not looking for a high tech toy, I'm looking for something I can depend on, and with stuff like that, it just means, more stuff that can break.

I have a stick I only use for Flipping and pitching so I won't make any mistakes on over spooling.
