Default Swimbaits & Super Flukes

Swimbaits & Super flukes were really working for me today.I caught 31 keeper size smallmouth today in 5 hours of fishing. The Hurricane effect brought rain all day yesterday, but it only sprinkled twice today with 15-25 MPH wind & overcast conditions.I caught 3 dinks on a Spro Aruka trap, had a good slam, popped the reel off the rod, Damned Falcon reel seat does not like the Johnny Morris reel foot.I lost the fish, switched reels on the rod and switched the trap to a MegaBait swim bait in Rainbow trout color. The fish slammed the swimbait as I slowly swam it over the weedbeds so it ticked the weeds the entire time on the retrieve.I tied a bubblegum superfluke and went back through the area and caught more legal size smallmouth.I basically hopped from flat to flat fishing the 2 baits. My disposable camera malfunctioned on me, but hopefully some of the pictures will come out when I get them developed.I am looking for that big smallmouth to post, so far 14-15" were common, but I wasn't able to get on the better spots due to too much wind. I started on the spot, but could not stand up to fish in the boat 2-3+ ft chop is not friendly when fishing from a 14 ft. aluminum , I took several waves over the sides of the boat and quit trying to fish there when I had 5 " of water in the bottom of my boat. Lmao.... I need a automatic bilge pump, or at least a switch wired up to the front of the boat while I am on the trolling motor.P N J

Sounds like fun, you use falcon rods? Thought I was the only one.

I have a 5 power 7' MH rod. It has a softer action I prefer for some types of lures. I used to use Falcon Lowriders, then the stores in my area quit carrying Falcon, and so did I.This one I have left is an oldie. P N J
