Default high rock lake 9-10-06

as i rounded the bend at southmount brige all i seen was a sea of boat lights..cussing my luck. i proceded to the launch they were launching 5 at a time took me 20 mintues to get my boat wet. the guy that backed me in i know well enough-howdie doo rick-.. as i was getting every thing squared away ready to go, he came out on the floater and asked if i could ease over to his boat -he had a problem- we traded batteries as my boat was running. he cranked up and got his going i told him just bring the optima back to work with him monday.. we took off just prior to the tourny blast off..

water was 78-80 stained in places. i headed to my favorite section.
first fish of the day was a pint sized p-dabber

the bass were really nailing the crank but good. i lost a couple bass do to a dull hook i touched it up and caught the next one.

whoohoo i was on a p-dabber pattern

the next fish hit right at the boat but was not much of a battler it was a white perch..

as much fun-- as i was having in this area. i ran to a differant spot in the same creek. i like this spot it allows me to fish a tad deeper.. and it holds some decent bass.

and they were all over that deep lil n..
i hit possibly my favorite -and most productive- hole in this creek..
when i caught this midget on the sleeper rig i know my day was screwed..

at this point my day took a turn for the worst. while dipping the tail of my lizard in some chart.dye. a boat wave bounced the bottle hand while i was trying to get the cap on it. i now have 3 yellow fingers -good thing i was holding it over the side- i work and had a strike on said lizard. but no hook up i chunked a pnj in there hooked up one -felt decent- the 20 pound calcutta braid broke at the knot-a good amount of cussing insued-i rerigged with the same set up first cast i caught a decent bass around 2 pounds. the camera tells me that it is doa and will not work further.. blast it!!..
i run to a section i never fished afore. but man does it look good. i caught 3 more on a cranks 1 keeper i had a good one on and it jumped off-%$#@#$%-i picked off 2 more on a jig.. i am getting this jig thing down..

Depends on the conditions where you are, Va. Yesterday in rainy/cloudy conditions Flyrod and I put 18 in the boat.
