Don't worry, no full beers were harmed.

My dads friend, made a pneumatic potato gun, that shoots bush bean cans, filled with cement, and that reminds me of something he would do.

A guy at work and I made a pneumatic cannon. Mainly we shot potatoes but it also was fun to dump water in there, lots of kick, and chunks of round steel. I turned a "bullet" out of aluminum on the lathe one night and put a pointed set screw in the end. It pierced the dumpster out back of the shop. That is when I hid the "bullet" never to shoot it again, too dangerous.
We got the idea because there was an article in the local paper about these guys: http://www.secondamendmentgun.us/ from the next town over. I researched it and found some simple plans to make a small one using a lawn sprinkler valve.

Glad that was yankee goat piss in cans being shot rather than beer such as shiner or bud. I was about to call party foul.
