Well, I wasn't really a non-believer, but I do fully believe in them now. What a I talking about? SENKO'S baby, yeah!!!!
My buddy and I took my boy to a couple local ponds this morning to try and get some brim action in. He was doing great with the brim while me and my buddy was throwing some buzzbaits around. We were casting to this one area and kept hanging bass, but they would spit it out everytime they would jump. I finally got tired of losing everyone I hung, so I tied on a chartreuse and white senko weightless style just to see what it would do. First cast out, I gave it a twitch and BAM, one came up and took it. This was a classic ESPN scene on this take because he blew completely out of the water when he took it. I would have given anything to have a camera man there to get it on tape. I got that one in, was right at 14 inches long and maybe a pound and a half if that much. We ended up catching about 4 more out of that hole on senko's and LOVED it. I am not sure how many we missed while watching each other reel one in. I missed a couple of good bass when I was watching my son reel in the brim he was catching. I have read that senkos are deadly and now I am a true believer and will always have one tied on for those tough times out on the lake.
