ahhh simplicity at it finest..
dam i do love me some ALL american engineering.. not a metric bolt or nut no where..no need for a $10k puter to tell ya "dis right 'ere id da problem"
the only bad part i have found in a all oringinal 1971 johnson 50 horse is the soilnoide. i just replaced all the fuel lines and took the starter off-goin to get it tested-carbs are nearly spotless. the screen filter inside looks new -i busted the factory varnish seals on the bolts-the eletric choke seems to work fine. the twin tubes-cyclinders- are putting out 60 pounds of compression in both holes -outstanding - the spark plugs -well for being 10 years old aint bad but i changed them any way.. i am overly glad i like to work on old cars/trucks/boats. as none of the johnny parts were made anywhere but right here in the good old US of A. shag nasty tried to buy it from me last night. lmao not a chance . we tested the springs on the trailer as both of us climbed in it. about 700 pounds of beef bouncing on the springs will TEST them.. he made the comment of the leg room is out standing.. zooker
