Default today's fishing! (skunkage, i think not!)

Alright... well it was like 65 degrees out, exremely windy. i was thinking, hey I don't think its ideal but i haven't been fishing in a while. So I grab some hooks, tiki stiks, and hawgsauce, and of course my rods and headed off to the pond. Ok, so i was going to wacky rig the tiki sticks and make a very slow retrieve... i casted out, dropped my rod, and casted out with another rod. then i wait a bit and do a little hopping retrieve. Ok, first cast and i catch this:

It's pretty cool, since every time i get a fish on the first cast i have a good day. Well, after that fish, i just had some bites but missed hooksets (the idea of just letting the rods sit wasn't too smart). i did land these lunker slabs of snot moss, though!

1 dink, 2 hawgs.
This one put up a tough fight...

and does anybody want to identify this weed?

Ok well then a mother with her 2 autistic kids came over... she was very nice and asked if her kids could throw rocks, so i figured sure, I'll be a good person. The kids have their fun, talked a bit about fishing... i ended up persuading the mother to buy them some spincast combos and take em bluegill fishing at Assunpink.
ok well then i headed to the nice spot (btw JB thanks for the tip about casting paralel to the bank):

and landed this, first cast into a littlle enclosure.

Then a few ducks passed by...

I headed down to the infamous fisherman's christmas tree, decorated with all sorts of lures... its a hard cast, but I've done it plenty of times. i got it down by now. here is the tree:

there is only one visible, but there are atleast 15 lures (including 2 of mine) up in that tree. Well, i casted right under it and landed this... had a random passerby take the pic. Looked much bigger in real life.

Well it was a nice day... really wasn't expecting a catch, but I'm getting good at this! Remeber the days when I'd be skunked on every outing... thanks for your help guys!

Haha i doubt that branch would support more than 20pounds... if it snaps, a 20 foot drop. I have been known to occaisonally jump into a bush, or hop some throns to grab a bobber floatin and see whats on the other end.

I have been thinking of ways to get those down... But treecutter was too short, casting up with like 200 test braid wouldn't be too good for my gear, climbing would mean falling.
The one idea that i think may possibly work is a rope around the limb, then making some sort of long sliding device to go along it that would have a serrated blade. The branch is thin, it would be quick cutting. The golf ball retriever may or may not work, because some parts have enormous line tangles on them.

i also caught a hawg myself, atleast a personal hawg, i went fishing last saturday when my buddy came down from chi-town area and we wanted to go fishin so we did, didnt really expect anything. started with a straight tailed worm workin is slow, and it wasnt working, then i rememberd an article called "cold crankin" so i tied on a rapala i found when i was walking along a river. and sure enough about 15 casts later over a point Wham , well more like "wtf im snagged" he felt like dead weight as i pulled him in and then when we saw him were all like omg awesome, and there are people sitting in their cars behind us prolly thinkin "those dumbasses, its too cold to go fishin" and we pulled him up on the dock and i did a lil victory dance lol. measured him at 17.5" and snapped a few pics with my phone and back on in he went. heres a pic, it was pretty cold and windy, hence the balaclava.
